Type & Purpose of Processing

When you access our website for informational purposes only — that is, if you do not register or otherwise submit information — we automatically collect general information that your browser transmits to our server.

Recipients

Recipients of the data are technical service providers acting as processors on our behalf for the operation and maintenance of the website (in particular, our hosting provider). These processors are bound by written data processing agreements in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.

Storage Duration

The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose of collection. For the connection data described above, this is generally the case when the respective session has ended.

Provision Mandatory or Required

The provision of the aforementioned personal data is neither legally nor contractually required. Without the IP address, however, the service and functionality of our website cannot be guaranteed. Individual services and functions may also not be available or may be limited. For this reason, an objection is excluded.

Type & Purpose of Processing

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first web analytics service provided by Plausible Insights OÜ (Tallinn, Estonia). Plausible is fully cookieless, does not use cross-site or cross-device tracking, and does not collect any personal data. It aggregates anonymous page-view counts, referring sources, and device types so that we can understand which content is useful and how the site performs.

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 § 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest). Our legitimate interest is the analysis of aggregate, anonymous website usage in order to improve our content and technical performance. Because Plausible processes no personal data and sets no cookies, no consent under § 25 TTDSG (German Telecommunications-Telemedia Data Protection Act) is required.

Storage Duration

Plausible does not store any personal data. Aggregate usage statistics are retained for as long as they are useful for the analysis of our website.

Recipients & Third-Country Transfer

All Plausible data is processed and stored exclusively on servers located within the European Union. No data is transferred to a third country outside the EU/EEA.

Type & Purpose of Processing

We embed selected videos from the YouTube platform on this website. YouTube is operated by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).

We use a click-to-load pattern: on page load, only a static preview image (“play facade”) is shown — nothing is loaded from YouTube, and no connection to Google servers is established. YouTube’s player, scripts, and cookies are only loaded once you actively click the play button. Before that click, no data is transmitted to YouTube or Google.

Legal Basis

The legal basis for loading the YouTube player after your click is Art. 6 § 1 lit. a GDPR (consent). By clicking play, you explicitly consent to the loading of YouTube content and the resulting data processing by Google.

Recipients

Once you click play, YouTube receives connection data (in particular your IP address, referring URL, and the video requested) as well as any information linked to a Google account you may be signed into. Third-Country Transfer

Google may transfer and process data in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF, 2023), which provides an adequate level of protection for personal data transferred from the EU to certified US organisations under an adequacy decision of the European Commission.

Withdrawal of Consent

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by not clicking on any additional YouTube play facades. The lawfulness of any processing already carried out on the basis of your prior consent remains unaffected.
