BotTalk Podcast Studio

A BotTalk Feature Built on the Audio Operating Layer

From article audio
to the daily audio edition.

Podcast Studio is a BotTalk feature that turns selected stories into a short, branded audio edition — controlled by the newsroom and powered by the BotTalk Audio Operating Layer.

The audience job

One newsroom.
One useful edition.

A newsroom publishes more journalism than any one reader can follow. The audience does not need another queue of stories. It needs orientation — the editorial answer to one question.

The audio article

“Read this to me.”

One article stays one article. The full story, narrated on the publisher’s own page, for the moments when the screen is down. Depth — the reader stays with a single piece.

“What mattered today?”

Not one more article. A concise daily, weekly, or topic edition that carries the day’s coverage in one listen — with an editorial frame, a chosen length, and a consistent voice.

Value · Orientation

One keeps the reader with a story.
One tells the audience what mattered.

Layer & feature

The feature sits on the layer.

Podcast Studio does not run on its own. Every step of the workflow rests on the same infrastructure that already narrates every article.

The layer provides

The foundation
  • Publisher-native content ingestion
  • Article parsing & quality controls
  • Pronunciation dictionaries
  • Multi-provider voice routing
  • Brand & editor voice options
  • Hosting & distribution

Podcast Studio adds

One feature
  • Article selection
  • Editorial summarisation
  • Episode creation
  • Background music
  • Show & episode metadata
  • Regular audio editions

One control layer.
Podcast Studio is one feature of it.

The edition schedule

Three editions.
Three audience questions.

  • 01

    Daily briefing

    “What happened today?”

The top stories of the day become a concise morning or evening edition — the newsroom’s answer to the day.

  • 02

    Weekly edition

    “What did I miss?”

The week’s essential coverage becomes one longer catch-up episode for the site, the app, and the podcast feed.

  • 03

    Topic edition

    “Bring me up to speed.”

An election, a trial, a tournament, an investigation — a continuing story becomes one themed edition the audience can follow.

Brand & distribution

It sounds like the publisher.
It travels on the publisher’s feed.

The edition carries the publisher’s identity — and moves through surfaces the publisher owns.

Your journalism. Your standard. Your voice.

  • A selected AI voice, or a consented clone of an editor or host voice
  • Background music to frame the edition
  • Title, cover art, and description for the show and each episode
  • A recognisable, publisher-owned audio identity

Publish once. Listen everywhere.

  • A publisher-owned episode page on the newsroom’s own website or app
  • A BotTalk-created and hosted RSS feed for podcast distribution
  • Owned briefing destinations plus an open podcast feed — two outputs of one workflow

How the feed reaches directories. BotTalk creates and hosts the RSS feed. After the feed is connected to podcast directories, new episodes can flow to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other listening destinations. A feed is connected once during setup — it is not auto-listed everywhere without it.
